IDEXX Laboratories, Inc in Louisville, KY is hiring a Veterinary Medical Laboratory Technician for a full-time overnight role. You will process samples, run tests, and release results per SOPs in a fast-paced lab environment. Cross-training in Parasitology is available and PPE is provided. This role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-, 3-, or 4-year degree in a Science-related field preferred.
• Experience as Veterinary Assistant or similar role is a plus.
• Production-line background helps with organization and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude to support teammates in a lab environment.
• This is a 3rd shift overnight position; overnight shift success shown previously is expected.

Responsabilités

In this role:

• In this role, you will be working in the Sample Processing Department
• You will be organizing samples, ensuring that all tests are accessioned into our computer system and accounted for
• You will be working in a high volume, fast paced environmentYou will set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• You will also be cross training in our Parasitology Department - setting up fecal tests and placing them onto analyzers
• Candidates must be able to work in a laboratory around animal fecal samples (as well as blood, urine, surgical samples, etc.)
• We provide PPE (personal protective equipment) to all of our employees
• This is a fast-paced, high volume production based role in our lab

What you need to succeed:

• You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
• If you have experience as a Veterinary Assistant, Animal Kennel Technician, are quick on your feet and want to learn more and grow in a lab, this position could be a good fit for you
• This position would also be a good fit for someone coming from a production line background-organization and attention to detail are of the utmost importance
• You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues
• This is a 3rd shift position-applicants who will be considered must have already shown that they can work the overnight shift successfully
• You are looking forward to working in a team
• You concentrate on the details and can work reliably and precisely
• You have a great sense of team spirit and responsibility
• Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab - standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability - close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• This is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

Schedule:

• The schedule for this position is as follows:
• SUNDAY NIGHT: 9PM - 5:30PM
• MONDAY - THURSDAY: 11:30PM - 8:00AM
• This is a full time, 40/hr per week position
• This is an overnight position
• You will have Friday night and Saturday night off
• The shifts and hours may vary slightly depending on business needs.
• Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
