Job description

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

The Medical Laboratory Technician functions under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor. The role involves performing various routine clinical laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

1. Operate manual and automatic laboratory instruments and equipment.
2. Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
3. Prepare chemicals, reagents, and solutions required for clinical testing.
4. Utilize the Laboratory Information System to enter test orders, report results, verify specimen receipt times, and check pending tests.
5. Comply with all clinic policies and procedures, including safety protocols and the code of conduct.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate of Science degree or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory.
• Knowledge of CAP & CLIA regulations and standards.
• Experience with Clinical Chemistry & Special Chemistry, preferably with Roche Cobas systems.
• MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent.
