Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician for Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA. This 40-hour day shift offers weekend/holiday rotation and a competitive benefits package in a not-for-profit health system focused on community care.

Required: Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, ASCP or equivalent within one year, and at least one year of multi-discipline lab experience. Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 is required or an approved exemption.

• One year of multi-discipline laboratory experience preferred.

We are searching for a talented Medical Laboratory Technician

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift, 6:30am - 3:00pm, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 8:00am - 4:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: Tobey Hospital - Wareham, MA

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Laboratory or designee, perform all routine laboratory analysis with accuracy and precision and according to written procedures. Identify all critical or unexpected results and verify results according to established procedures. Notify Supervisor or Clinical Specialist as appropriate. Prepare samples for analysis. Draw correct specimen and volume. Assign accession numbers. Maintain workstation in a neat and orderly fashion.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science required.
• Also required is certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent certification within one year of date of hire.
• One year of experience in multiple laboratory disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology and Blood Bank preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Technician certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent certification is required within one year of date of hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $31.99 - USD $41.51 /Hr.
