Job summary

United States Army Reserve is seeking a Medical Laboratory Specialist to support Soldier care and assist in diagnosis and treatment. You will collect samples and perform chemical and biological tests to aid diagnosis, and handle blood products.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 52 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, plus continuous skill development. Benefit programs cover TRICARE, dental, vision, and long-term wellness, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Submit to background and medical screening.
• Receive a passing score on the ASVAB.
• Be between the ages of 17–40.

Responsibilities

• Perform elementary blood banking and clinical laboratory procedures in hematology, immunohematology, clinical chemistry, serology, bacteriology, parasitology and urinalysis
• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture
• Pack, unpack, inspect, store and distribute blood and blood products
• Assemble, disassemble and maintain laboratory equipment
