A joint venture surgical hospital in Dallas is looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician. This role involves developing compliance policies, analyzing laboratory data, and coordinating reports for clinical operations. Qualified candidates must hold an accredited degree, possess relevant certifications, and have experience in laboratory settings.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.
The MLS/MT provides knowledge regarding all laboratory testing within the scope of services. Develops policies and procedures to comply with all CLIA and The Joint Commission requirements. Analyzes data and coordinates development of reports for Medical Director review and approval.
Required Skills
· Have earned a doctoral, master's, or bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology, or nursing from an accredited institution;
· Preferred two (2) years’ experience in an accredited laboratory (preferred). Experience with Point of Care Testing, moderately complex testing and highly complex testing (blood bank) preferred.
· Certification by one of the following accrediting agencies: MT (ASCP) or categorical, HTL (ASCP), CT (ASCP), MT (HEW), MT (AMT), MT (NCA), CHT, CHS (preferred)
· Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies/standards.
· Basic computer skills.
· Ability to detect color and color changes.
