Orange City Area Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to perform clinical laboratory tests and related duties in accordance with standards for diagnosis and treatment. The role emphasizes quality control, instrument maintenance, and adherence to regulations, with opportunity to learn new technology and work with a dedicated team.

Typical schedule includes 3–5 days per week, rotating shifts, with weekends and on-call rotation shared among staff; on-call room

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent required; CLIA requirements apply.
• MLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) certification preferred.
• Commitment to quality control and ongoing learning in lab technology.

Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician

Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures and related duties according to established standards and regulations for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. He/she will work with self-discipline, good judgment, and considerable independence while following established standards of practice. Day-to-day duties include quality control, quality assurance, and instrument maintenance. He/she must be proficient in assigned areas and willing to learn new technology.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent. Education must meet the requirements defined by CLIA. MLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) certification preferred.

Job Schedule

3 - 5 days/week: Monday – Friday. Starting time between 6 AM –9 PM with Rotating shifts. Includes weekends and call rotation shared with 10 other techs. On-call room available in hospital for overnight stays.
