Holmes County Lab, located at Holmes County Hospital, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a PRN role to perform a full range of laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

The role requires testing in hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry and urinalysis, data analysis skills, and adherence to safety protocols. Certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Certification/registration required within 120 days post-hire.
• Knowledge of laboratory protocols and data handling.
• Ability to analyze, verify, and interpret clinical/laboratory data.

Responsibilities

• Conducts clinical laboratory tests across hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry and urinalysis.
• Analyzes samples of biological material for chemical content or reaction.
• Performs chemical analysis of body fluids to detect normal/abnormal components.
• Cultivates, isolates, identifies microbial organisms and prepares slides for microscopy.
• Selects and prepares specimens/media for cell culture using aseptic technique.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains equipment (spectrophotometers, calorimeters, analyzers); enforces safety and quality controls.
