Position Summary

Performs various tests in the medical laboratory, utilizing skills in laboratory techniques, instrument operation, and result verification within specialty areas. Responsibilities include quality control, instrument maintenance, and supporting interdependent laboratory functions. The role requires providing care for a diverse patient population, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare specimens for analysis and establish testing priorities.
  2. Conduct routine clinical laboratory tests within assigned sections, rotating as needed.
  3. Record and report test results according to procedures, referring abnormal results to the supervisor.
  4. Maintain laboratory equipment, perform minor adjustments, and verify test accuracy with controls. Report serious malfunctions.
  5. Assist in training new employees on testing procedures and equipment.
  6. Perform complex tests across various sections, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  7. Perform routine and emergency maintenance on laboratory instruments.
  8. Stay informed about advancements in laboratory technology and techniques.
  9. Contribute to the development and implementation of testing procedures.
