Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT) to join the Shelbyville Good Shepherd Hospital laboratory team. The role involves performing a range of tests on patient samples using automated analyzers, microscopes, and computers to support diagnosis and treatment.

The successful candidate will hold a NAACLS-accredited MLS/MT program or ASCP certification (with a bachelor's degree) and meet the experience requirements; certification within 180 days is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences with NAACLS MLS/MT or ASCP eligibility.
• If ASCP eligibility is used, bachelor's degree plus 2 years full-time lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of tests on patient samples to detect health conditions.
• Use biomedical instrumentation, microscopes, and computers for analysis.
• Provide data to physicians for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain quality controls and regulatory compliance in the lab.
