UVA Health Medical Laboratories in Charlottesville, VA, invites applications to join our team across all specialties with flexible opportunities and sign-on bonuses for eligible applicants. We seek MLS/MLT professionals at CLS levels, with NAACLS-approved training and ASCP certifications.

Our labs deliver comprehensive diagnostic services across Blood Bank, Core Lab, Genomics, Microbiology and more, supported by a Magnet-recognized health system.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLT 1 requires an NAACLS-approved MLT program or related biology/chemistry degree.
• MLS/MLT 2 requires NAACLS MLS/CLS program and related biology/chemistry degrees; multiple pathways listed.

Minimum Requirements

MLS/MLT 1 (CLS 1):

Education: Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a NAACLS approved MLT program; Bachelor’s in Biology/Chemistry or related science

Experience: No experience required

License/Certification: ASCP or equivalent certification within 24 months of hire

MLS/MLT 2 (CLS 2)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree with completion of a NAACLS approved MLS/CLS program; Bachelor’s in Biology/Chemistry or related science; Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a NAACLS approved MLT program

Experience: Bachelor’s Degree with completion of a NAACLS approved MLS/CLS program – 0 years; Master’s/PhD in Biology/Chemistry or related science – 0 years; Bachelor’s in Biology/Chemistry or related science – 3 years; Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a NAACLS approved MLT program – 4 years

License/Certification: ASCP or equivalent certification within 24 months of hire
