Job summary

Endeavor Health invites qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists to join our Highland Park Hospital laboratory on a part-time basis (20 hours). The shift runs Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with occasional weekend work and rotating holidays.

Candidates must have an Associate's degree and CLIA-compliant training for moderate to high complexity testing. Preferred MT/MLS certification (ASCP) and active status; internal candidates should have at least two years of relevant testing

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required with CLIA coursework for moderate to high complexity testing.
• MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent preferred and actively certified.
• Two years of MT/MLS experience for internal candidates; four years for external candidates in comparable settings.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical and interdepartmental laboratory issues and identify problems affecting test performance.
• Communicate findings and corrective actions clearly to supervisory staff.
• Demonstrate teamwork and organizational skills to support laboratory operations.

Hourly Pay Range

$30.46 - $45.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
• Location: Highland Park Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Part Time, 20 hours
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 10pm-6:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What You Will Do

Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various Laboratory areas Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel. Good communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.

What You Will Need

• Education: Associate's degree and the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
• Certification: MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent and ongoing active certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience: MT/MLS: Experience preferred. Internal MLT Candidate: Two (2) years of experience at NorthShore performing moderate to high complexity testing beyond POC/Waived testing with an achieved competency level of a Laboratory Associate. External MLT Candidate: Four (4) years of experience in a comparable healthcare setting of moderate to high complexity testing beyond POC/Waived testing with an achieved competency level of a Laboratory Associate.
