Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to perform a broad spectrum of laboratory tests under supervision, contributing essential data for precise diagnoses and effective treatment in a medical center.

The role emphasizes knowledge of lab operations, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with PC-based word processing and spreadsheets. Preferred candidates have CLIA/CAP certification and military lab training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Associate’s degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489(b)(3)(ii) (see NOTE 2).
• Successful completion of at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
• Completion of certification/licensure requirements that meet CLIA/CAP requirements for the performance of high complexity testing

Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the Supervisor and leadership team, conducts a wide range of laboratory tests to gather essential data for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases in a medical center.
• Under the guidance of the Supervisor and leadership team, conducts a wide range of laboratory tests and ensures quality control and safety in testing.
• Maintains accurate documentation and records of test results and procedures.
