Medical Laboratory Scientist II - RRL Float

Join to apply for the Medical Laboratory Scientist II - RRL Float role at Quest Diagnostics.

Position Details: Minneapolis, MN - Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (Rotational Weekends)

Under minimal supervision, incumbents will perform complex tests and assignments, more advanced than those of a Phlebotomist II or Medical Technologist I.

Responsibilities include:

• Travel to various sites.
• Provide coverage at multiple sites performing testing at Rapid Response Laboratories without direct supervision.
• Optional phlebotomy duties; training and assessment of staff.

Pay Range: $30.50 - $46.89/hour, based on skills, experience, and certifications. Eligible for performance bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical testing independently and accurately.
• Optional: Conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
• Prepare reagents, evaluate new tests, and ensure proper specimen handling.
• Maintain quality control, calibrate instruments, and record maintenance.
• Enter and review test results, recognize and address anomalies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, notify supervisors, and document problems.
• Train staff, assist in scheduling, participate in meetings, and contribute to quality improvement.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Phlebotomy experience required if performing/overseeing phlebotomy services.
• Preferred: 2+ years in a multi-RRL setting and 5+ years of phlebotomy experience.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Ability to drive between sites.
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift objects up to 40 pounds, sit/stand long hours, perform repetitive tasks.

Education & Certifications:

• Associates Degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current state licensure and phlebotomy certification (where applicable).
• Valid driver's license.
