Baptist Health is seeking a motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join our Core Lab team at Baptist Downtown, Jacksonville, FL. This full-time night shift role involves working four 10-hour shifts from 8:30 pm to 7:00 am, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The candidate should be trained in chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology, and serology, with experience working with Beckman Instruments and automation lines for chemistry, hematology, and coagulation. The team consists of 7-8 Medical Technologists and four Specimen Processors.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, and clerical functions.
• Maintaining records as per SOP manuals.
• Working independently without on-site supervision.
• Supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and serving as Charge Technologist in the absence of other supervisors or MTs.
• Instructing new employees and students.

Licensure as a Medical Technologist in Florida is required, with specialization in Chemistry and Hematology. Candidates licensed before 1997 are exempt from certification requirements per Florida rules.

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree

Experience: 2 years Medical Technologist experience

Licensing and Certification: Certified Medical Technologist (MT) or Licensed Medical Technologist required; MLT or Clinical Laboratory Technician preferred.
