American Medical Technologists seeks an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join a hospital-based Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank team in Chapel Hill, NC. The role involves high-complexity laboratory testing, troubleshooting, quality control, and supporting safe and timely patient care.

The position offers Friday-Monday overnight shifts with a $10,000 sign-on incentive for full-time employment and comprehensive benefits.

Formación

• Active ASCP or AMT MLS/MT certification, or qualifying MLT certification.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in applicable laboratory science.
• 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience for the MLT pathway.
• Hands-on Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a high-complexity hospital laboratory.
• Must be comfortable working the Friday-Monday overnight schedule.

Responsabilidades

• Perform Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine testing.
• Handle Type & Screen, Antibody Identification, DAT, Eluate, Phenotyping and Antigen Typing.
• Perform crossmatching and blood product preparation/modifications.
• Support Massive Transfusion Protocols and emergency-release procedures.
• Perform quality control, calibration and equipment maintenance.
• Troubleshoot testing, specimens, instruments and workflow issues.
• Review and report accurate laboratory results.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory and safety standards.
• Assist with training and competency of laboratory staff.
