Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Houston, TX is seeking an entry- to mid-level Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join a Fortune 500 leader in diagnostic information services. The role offers a $29.50+ per hour pay range with 10% and 15% shift differentials on second and third shifts, respectively, and potential annual bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities include following procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting, and recordkeeping, while maintaining proficiency testing compliance

Qualifications

• 1 year clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
• Educational requirements include a BS in Medical Technology or related science.
• Other acceptable degrees include BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology or an AS in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Pay range: $29.50+ per hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
