Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to perform complex lab tests on blood and body fluids, identify microorganisms, and support transfusion and transplant services. The role requires eligibility for ASCP/AMT cert and timely board certification if not yet certified.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree or if currently certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or a Medical Technologist, an Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training may be substituted for a Bachelors.
• If not currently certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or a Medical Technologists, must be eligible for the ASCP, AMT or equivalent board certification exam and must be Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist certified within 18 months of hire.

• Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues.
• Identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms; analyze chemical content of fluids; cross match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation; aseptically prepare cells for use in cellular therapies.
