Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for the evening shift (Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM). The role involves handling specimens, performing analyses, and releasing results in a CLIA-compliant environment.

Candidates should have a relevant degree (BS in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology) and prior experience with high-complexity testing. Eligible for sign-on bonus and shift differentials where applicable.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
• Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology acceptable.
• 1 year clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow lab procedures for specimen handling, testing analyses, and reporting.
• Maintain records of proficiency testing samples.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures and release results.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Identify and report problems affecting test performance.

Medical Laboratory Scientist I - Lewisville, TX (Evening Shift) Tuesday - Saturday 3:00PM - 11:30PM

Pay range: $29.50+ per hour + $5k Sign on Bonus available for external candidates only; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Education

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493
• Bachelor's degree required, degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferred
• Transcripts will be requested for review throughout consideration process

Work Experience

• 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
• LCMS/ICPMS/GCMS experience strongly preferred
