Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Inc. in Indianapolis, IN seeks Medical Laboratory Scientists and MLS/MLT at 9:00 PM–7:30 AM, Wednesday–Saturday. Pay starts at $28/hour with 15% night and 10% weekend differentials.

4–10 hour shifts; value training and a range of benefits in a Fortune 500 diagnostic leader. Candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses. BS-related education and 1 year of high-complexity experience preferred; hospital/clinical lab experience is noted.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493
• 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining patient test records.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow established policies when test systems are not within acceptable ranges.
• Identify and report problems that may affect test performance or reporting.

This position can be adjusted to hire all levels of MLT and MLS. Salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.

4 - 10 Hour Shifts!

15% Night Shift Differential

Pay range: $28.00+ per hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.

Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Qualifications:

Work Experience:

1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
