Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Ellsworth, ME for night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). This hospital-based role supports the Northern Lights Hospital laboratory with high-quality testing and reporting.

Candidates with a BS in Medical Technology or related field and 1 year of clinical high-complexity experience are preferred. Eligible for shift differentials and performance bonuses may apply.

Formación

• BS in Medical Technology or equivalent degree is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology or an associated Laboratory Science program is acceptable.
• Certification or eligibility under 42 CFR 493 is considered.
• 1 year of clinical high-complexity testing experience is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records proving proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures and review/release results.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety guidelines.
• Identify problems impacting test performance and notify senior staff as needed.

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Ellsworth, ME. This role is a hospital-based position at Northern Lights Hospital.

Pay range: $29.24 - $32.49 / hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493

Work Experience

• 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
