Job summary

IU Health Ft Wayne Hospital is seeking a Generalist Laboratory Technician to join the lab team. Full-time, day shift with every other weekend and holiday rotation; start date January 4th, training may occur at Ball and Jay locations.

Responsibilities include performing tests on patient specimens, maintaining quality records, and contributing to research and development activities. Requires Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related sciences, 1 year of experience, and certification eligibility

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
• Requires 1 year of relevant experience.
• Certification or eligibility for ASCP AMT NCA ACHI or equivalent.
• Certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
• Ability to work independently, handle interruptions and concurrent tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests on patient specimens and provides information for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintains records of performance and quality control; generates acceptable results.
• May participate in research and development activities.
• May act as a resource person for staff; trains students, staff, and others on procedures.
• Follows standard operating procedures and may contribute to procedure development.
