Medical Laboratory Scientist – 3rd Shift

Are you looking for a rewarding career with family-friendly hours and top-notch benefits? We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our Texas Health team.

Position Highlights:

  • Work location: 6100 Harris Parkway Fort Worth, TX 76132
  • Work hours: 4 x 10-hour shifts, 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays

Here’s What You Need:

Education: MLS Requirement. Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science preferred. Candidates hired as CLS II before January 3, 2010, will be grandfathered to MLS with existing education. A degree may be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Experience: Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program required. 2 years’ experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: MLS (ASCP) required within 6 months of hire. MT (ASCP) or other relevant licenses required within 6 months of hire.

Here’s What You Will Do:

  • Specimen Integrity: Evaluate and solve problems related to specimen collection and processing; maintain specimen integrity throughout testing.
  • Laboratory Operations: Facilitate workflow, troubleshoot tests, manage supplies, and ensure quality of care.
  • Professional Accountability: Participate in training, maintain certifications, attend continuing education, and adhere to hospital policies.
  • Test Procedures: Follow established procedures, evaluate and report results, communicate findings, and guide technical staff.
  • Quality Control/Documentation: Follow QC guidelines, document and review QC, perform equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot.
  • Safety: Follow safety and infection control measures, HIPAA guidelines, participate in safety drills, and report incidents.
