Job summary

Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and body fluids, rotating through departments to maintain competency in a fast-paced hospital lab.

You will use manual and automated instruments, collaborating with ER and outpatient teams to provide essential diagnostic results that influence patient care. Six months of lab experience and appropriate certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory discipline or equivalent.
• Certification as BB, C, CG, CT, M, MB or AAB/AMT compliant.
• Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework aligned to Medical Laboratory discipline
  • OR Certification as a BB, C, CG, CT, M, MB
  • OR meets AAB/AMT certification requirements.
• Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification at the technologist or medical/clinical lab scientist level from a nationally recognized agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT, ASM, AAB, AABB, ACS, or HEW).
