Job Description

Join Pride Health as a Medical Lab Scientist in Kalamazoo, MI US 53210! This Contract role (Potential for Extension) offers a great opportunity to gain experience and excel in a dynamic environment.

Role: Medical Lab Scientist

Location: Kalamazoo, MI US 53210

Shift Details: 3rd/ 10pm-0630, every other weekend. Will get days off during the week.

Duration – 181 days (Potential for Extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Highlights: $30- $38 /hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine specimen acceptability based on established laboratory criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex testing procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functioning.
  • Make technical decisions regarding test performance and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and quality controls.
  • Accurately report test results in a timely manner to support patient care.
  • Perform and document quality control and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory by identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies.
  • Assist in specimen processing and workflow support as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BSMT, MLS, CLS or BS in Bio or chem with 1 year of relevant experience. OR 2 yr associates degree in medical technology [MLT] with 3-5 years Blood Bank
  • CORE LAB
  • GENERALIST [COAG, HEM, UA, ETC EXPERIENCE]
  • ASCP OR AMT CERTIFICATION required

Certifications: ASCP or AMT Required.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credit.
