Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform and report analyses from multiple specimen sources, ensuring accuracy in laboratory processes and high-quality patient care.

You will manage specimens, perform instrument maintenance and quality control, resolve discrepancies in orders, and participate in training and competency exams in a clinical setting. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with policies, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• ASCP or NAACLS certification preferred.
• Ability to handle specimens properly and adhere to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage specimens, confirm identification, and use proper accessioning procedures.
• Perform instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, quality control, and reagent replenishment.
• Recognize discrepancies in patient orders and resolve issues appropriately.
• Follow established reporting protocols using computerized, verbal, and manual methods.
• Navigate multiple computer applications and assist in training new staff.
• Participate in educational activities to maintain current knowledge and complete competency exams.
