Job description

TriHealth is offering an exciting opportunity for students pursuing a career in medical laboratory science. This co-op position provides hands-on experience in waived and moderate complexity testing, allowing students to gain essential clinical training. Participants will follow a structured educational pathway, preparing them for certification and future roles as Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) or Medical Technologists (MT). Job Overview: Students enrolled in Allied Health Science programs, or an equivalent program recognized by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) must complete specific education, clinical training, and experience to qualify for certification examinations. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with waived and moderate complexity testing as part of the required clinical training.

Upon hiring, individuals commit to a structured educational and training pathway with a defined timeline for completion. Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to apply for open Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) positions at TriHealth Laboratory locations as Registry-Eligible. This role is designed to encourage professional development, certification attainment, and career progression within the laboratory field.

Location: Good Samaritan Hospital at 375 Dixmyth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45220

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an approved Allied Health Science program (Required)
  • In the final year of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) program, graduating by or before May 2026 (Required)
  • Clinical training experience within an approved program as outlined above (Required)
  • Verification of current enrollment in an MT/MLT program will be required upon hire
