Job summary

MaineHealth’s NorDx Laboratory seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to represent the organization in patient settings and perform key pre-analytical duties, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, order entry, waived testing, and quality control.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, PBT/MLA certification preferred, a valid driver’s license if travel is required, and at least one year of phlebotomy/specimen management experience; willingness to work at multiple sites.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's License may be required if role involves travel to other work sites/locations.
  • Experience: One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required.
  • May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Process specimens and manage orders.
  • Conduct waived testing and specialty testing.
  • Maintain quality control and documentation.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's License may be required if role involves travel to other work sites/locations.
  • Experience: One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required.

The pay range for this position is $20.27to $24.36 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
