Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Clinical Medical Lab Assistant to support the Institute for Genomic Medicine laboratory. The role involves clerical and patient care tasks to enable technologists to finish testing promptly.
Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with on-site responsibilities including specimen collection and processing. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
We are seeking a Clinical Medical Lab Assistant to support the work performed in the Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) laboratory. The Medical Lab Assistant is responsible for clerical and patient care support tasks which enable technologists to complete testing of patient specimens in a timely manner. Schedule- M-F 8:30 a-5:00p.
Provides clerical, registration, and patient care support. Ensures that specimen preparation, accessioning, and processing is completed. Performs waived laboratory testing in applicable lab sections.
Offsite Lab Sections: Responsible for specimen collection including venipuncture, capillary, sweat chloride, and miscellaneous other collections.
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Climb stairs/ladder, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Loud Noises, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Squat/kneel
FREQUENTLY: Chemicals/Medications, Machinery, Seeing – Far/near, Walking
