Qualifications

  • Registration as a Phlebotomy Technician by ASCP or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in diagnostic tests including Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Chemistry.
  • Non-traditional routes may be considered based on experience.

Position: Medical Lab Assistant

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Medical Lab Assistant to join our Pathology team! This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefit-eligible position.

The Opportunity:

The Medical Laboratory Assistant performs specimen collection and routine CLIA Moderately Complex clinical laboratory testing under the supervision of the Supervisor or Medical Technologist, using automated and manual procedures to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease, following established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures according to established standards, ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • Follow written procedures to independently perform routine diagnostic tests, including Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Chemistry, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Microbiology, and Serology.
Regulatory Requirements:
  • Registration as a Phlebotomy Technician by ASCP or equivalent (preferred).
  • A.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field from an accredited institution. Non-traditional routes may be considered based on experience and education.
