Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science degree is required or qualifies as an MT under the CLIA high complexity testing personnel qualifications.
• MLS/MT registry required or completed within two years of hire.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports all assigned tests with expected precision and accuracy.
• Obtains blood or other body fluids from patients.
• Operates computer equipment and software related to lab functions.
• Records all required quality control results.
• Maintains, calibrates, and repairs equipment with accurate records of services.
• Performs duties per CLIA high complexity testing requirements.
• Sets up cultures, Gram stains, and rapid testing in Microbiology.
• Collects blood specimens using venipuncture, fingerstick, or heelstick across age groups.
• Ensures patient identification and proper labeling of specimens.
