St. Francis-Emory Healthcare, part of the ScionHealth network in Columbus, GA, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and complex tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking.

You will ensure quality control, maintain equipment, and provide accurate diagnostic information to support patient care. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field and a NAACLS-accredited MLS program is preferred, with ASCP/AAB/AMT

Qualifications

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory testing.
Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and diagnostic software.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Perform tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking.
Analyze and validate test results ensuring regulatory compliance.
Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment per protocols.
Review patient specimens for accuracy prior to testing.
Maintain LIS data entries and laboratory records.
Participate in quality assurance, proficiency testing, and equipment validation.
Collaborate with physicians and staff to address diagnostic concerns.
Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing as needed.
Maintain a clean, compliant work area and follow safety protocols.
Engage in continuing education to stay current with lab technology.
