Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for PRN opportunities. The MLT utilizes training to perform tests on blood, urine and other body fluids to obtain information for diagnosis and patient status.

Candidates participate in performance improvement and uphold a team-oriented environment, aligning with the center's mission and values. Eligibility includes ABHES/CAAHEP program completion or equivalent qualifications.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) required.
• Completion of ABHES or CAAHEP accredited clinical laboratory program with 3+ months high complexity testing training.
• Military medical laboratory course of at least 50 weeks with MLT experience acceptable.
• Documentation of qualification as high complexity testing personnel as of 2024-12-28.
• Documentation of education/experience on file with Laboratory uploaded to GHR.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests on blood, urine and other body fluids to obtain diagnostic information.
• Maintains quality and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Promotes teamwork and aligns with Centennial Medical Center’s mission and values.

Education

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

Completion of ABHES/CAAHEP accredited program

50-week military medical laboratory course (and prior MLT role)

Documentation of CLIA high complexity testing qualification (as of 2024-12-28)

Documentation of education/experience on file with Laboratory (GHR)

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) utilizes skills and training to perform test of samples of blood, urine and other body fluids to obtain information utilized in diagnosis and evaluation of patient medical status.

Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains appropriate awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. Promotes a supportive, team-work oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of Centennial Medical Center Medical Center.

Must qualify by one of the

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or

• Completion of a medical laboratory military course of at least 50 weeks and have held the position of Medical Laboratory Specialist, or

• Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES or the CAAHEP and have at least 3 months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing, or

• Documentation that the individual was qualified and serving as a high complexity testing personnel in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28th 2024, and done so continuously since December 28th, 2024.

• Documentation of Education and or experience must be on file with the Laboratory and uploaded into GHR
