Responsibilities

This is a PRN Night Position

Riverview Regional Medical Center is seeking a CLS or MLT for our Clinical Laboratory. You will perform laboratory testing on patient specimens, ensuring results are accurate and timely. We seek someone passionate about the lab who enjoys partnering with physicians, nurses, and staff to provide the best patient care.

This is a PRN (as needed) night position from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, including night differential. We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits.

Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (12-hour shift, plus 30-minute lunch)

Schedule: PRN (as needed)

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Perform waived, highly, and moderately complex testing as per CLIA regulations (42 CFR 493.1489).
  • Possess skills appropriate to education, training, experience, and technical abilities.
  • Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
  • Identify and address problems affecting test performance, notifying supervisors as needed.
  • Perform manual and automated procedures in Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Immunology.
  • Perform and document maintenance of instruments and equipment.
  • Review patient results for accuracy before reporting.
  • Recognize age-specific differences in expected results from newborns to geriatrics.
  • Ensure proficiency testing samples are processed correctly and collaborate with other labs only after testing.
  • May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture across all age groups.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining lab policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and HR policies.
  • In the absence of a supervisor, may serve as Lead Tech.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Current and valid state license if required by the state.
  • ASCP certification or equivalent required within one year of employment.
  • Associate’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological sciences, or coursework in an MLT program.
  • Preferred: 1 year hospital laboratory experience.
