Job summary

Summit Pacific Medical Center is seeking a qualified clinical laboratory technologist to join our hospital-wide team. You will perform all phases of laboratory testing from specimen receipt to result reporting and participate in instrument maintenance and QA.

You will support pre-analytical and post-analytical processes, handle complex results, and assist with procedure reviews and competency training as part of a collaborative health-care team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level not required; 1 year hospital lab experience preferred.
• Associates degree is required.
• Current ASCP or equivalent, CPR/BLS within 3 months.
• Washington Phlebotomy license is optional.
• Knowledge of quality control and Westgard rules.
• Ability to troubleshoot and communicate with providers.

Responsibilities

• Handle all pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical steps.
• Participate in procedure reviews, writing, and training.
• Manage inventory and prepare specimens for testing.
• Operate and maintain instruments with controls.
• Evaluate test results for accuracy considering patient factors.
• Report critical results and investigate unusual findings.
• Participate in QA, proficiency testing, and training.
