Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Laboratory Technician/MLS with MLT training to prioritize and complete testing in a timely manner across age groups from neonate to geriatric. The role requires maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a High School Diploma or GED with MLT training, ASCP/NCA/AMT certification within 6 months, and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with MLT training from an accredited program.
• ASCP, NCA, or AMT certification within 6 months of hire; BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Correctly completes routine and stat testing within established time frames with minimal discrepancies.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation; inputs data into the computer system.
• Communicates with technologist/section head or pathologist on unusual results with limited discrepancies.
• Provides quality improvement suggestions and participates in Continuing Education (≥80%).
• Orders and restocks laboratory supplies.
