Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and certification for MLS role required.
• Associates Degree for MLT; certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in laboratory settings is preferred for MLT.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests on blood and body fluids; troubleshoot instrument issues.
• Communicate findings to clinicians and provide oversight to less experienced personnel.
• Supports medical technology projects as needed.

Job Summary – Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT)

• Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist perform tests on blood and body fluids to determine the presence or absence of disease, monitor response to treatment and aid in health maintenance. Provides guidance and oversight to other testing personnel with lesser credentials. Responsible to troubleshoot and address instrument issues and recognize need for service. Responsible to use critical thinking and clinical knowledge to assess questionable results and correlate with clinical information to determine accuracy.

Job Summary – Medical Lab Technician (MLT)

• Laboratory Technicians perform tests on blood and body fluids to determine the presence or absence of disease, monitor response to treatment and aid in health maintenance (with the assistance of Medical Technologists/Medical Laboratory Scientists). Identifies and interprets test results and reports to the appropriate clinician.

  • Required: Associates Degree OR completion of an accredited MLT Program

  • Preferred: 1 Year experience in a laboratory

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management. Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Required: Certified as a Medical Lab Technician from a nationally recognized laboratory certifying agency or eligible to sit for exam at time of hire; must obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
