Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform moderately complex laboratory testing under direction of a Medical Technologist. You will verify results, manage quality control, and operate laboratory instrumentation while ensuring accurate, timely results and adherence to Baptist Health standards.

Qualifications include graduation from an approved medical laboratory technician program or an associate degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports routine laboratory testing following established policies and procedures.
• Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.
• Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintains computer system proficiency for ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions.
• Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies.
• Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver.
• Maintains compliance with Baptist Health policies and procedures.
