Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technician.
• Associate degree in related field required.
• ASCP or AMT certification (or eligibility) required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderately and highly complex laboratory testing in area(s) within the clinical laboratory.
• Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.
• Performs, evaluates, and documents quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records and adheres to safety and infection control practices.
