Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Medical Lab Technologist, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.
Every day, you will expertly conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests on all scheduled benches as assigned according to current protocols, procedures, and quality assurance requirements. Maintain a high level of precision and accuracy for all testing. Report problems that may adversely affect test performance or results. Report critical values in a timely manner to appropriate personnel.
- Have considerable knowledge of a clinical laboratory as it applies to collecting and processing specimens. Process lab specimens and prepare lab samples for shipment as needed.
- Perform maintenance on equipment in a timely manner. Perform preventative maintenance protocols. Investigate and correct equipment malfunctions. Document appropriately.
- Perform quality control procedures, including instrument function checks and calibrations as needed. Monitor quality control results to assure acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained. Participate in laboratory quality assurance and quality assurance activities.
- Participate in continuing education.
- Follow all laboratory procedures including safety guidelines, the use of personal protective equipment and awareness of blood-borne pathogens. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Pay range: $21.85 - $30.87 /hour.
Requirements
- Associate of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA, upon hire, or
- High School GED General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician), upon hire, or
- High School Graduate General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician), upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Laboratory Technician AMT, upon hire, or
- Medical Laboratory Technician ASCP, upon hire, or
- Medical Lab Tech AAB, upon hire.
