Job Responsibilities

• Performs duties of a medical technologist in a specific laboratory section or rotates through all sections as needed.
• Follows strict asepsis and antisepsis principles, using proper techniques and equipment.
• Ensures proper functioning, maintenance, and cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
• Performs tests and procedures as per departmental protocols.
• Ensures specimens are collected, transported, labeled, and preserved correctly.
• Records, reports, and posts test results accurately.
• Performs quality control and adheres to hospital and departmental policies.
• Maintains records, reports, and logs.
• Attends training and meetings; stays updated on new methods.
• Maintains professional growth through seminars and conferences.
• Troubleshoots methods, procedures, and instrumentation.
• Monitors inventory levels.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in medical technology, MLT (ASCP), or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience preferred; new graduates considered.
