UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to perform and report moderately complex lab procedures on body fluids. You will assemble, calibrate and maintain anesthesia lab equipment, assist during procedures, and operate monitoring devices as required.
Requirements include an associate’s degree in a related field and MLT certification with ASCP or AMT within 13 months of hire. A $10,000 sign-on bonus may be available for full-time hires.
Pay range: $21.80 - $35.45 / hour
Sign-on bonus: $10,000 new hire sign-on bonus may be available (full-time only)

To perform, check accuracy and report results of moderately complex laboratory procedures on body fluids. To assemble, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance and quality control checks on anesthesia laboratory equipment. To assist during procedures and operate and monitor equipment as needed.
Associate's degree in a related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Students in a related associate's degree program must obtain degree within ninety (90) days from date of hire to classification. Must be certified as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) within thirteen (13) months of hire date.
