Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• Hold a current State Board Certification for Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Have previous experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Completed Phlebotomy training.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred phlebotomy training experience of at least 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-house laboratory testing.
• Maintain logbooks and records of tests sent out and track results.
• Perform proficiency testing on laboratory equipment.
• Establish controls and standards for in-house procedures.
• Collect viable specimens from patients in a timely manner.
• Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and COLA standards.
• Track laboratory results for missing reports.
• Conduct mandated lab reviews with designated accrediting agencies.
