Job summary

Phillips County Health Systems is seeking a Medical Lab Tech to conduct routine tests for diagnosis and treatment, following established standards. Work hours are Monday through Friday with on-call rotations in Phillipsburg, KS.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, routine laboratory testing, maintaining a safe workspace, managing records, and coordinating with reference labs. MT/MLT certification or AMT credentials are preferred, with opportunities to grow within a dedicated healthcare

Qualifications

• MT or MLT (ASCP) or AMT certification required or preferred.
• Experience with blood bank tube methodology advantageous.
• Phlebotomy skills for all age ranges and accurate specimen handling.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and process specimens for quality patient testing.
• Performs laboratory testing as outlined in policy and procedure manuals.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Follows Universal Precautions Policies.
• Maintains records, reports and statistics as directed.
• Processes specimens for reference laboratory and pathology services.
• Orders supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
• Assists other personnel with specimen collection and processing.
• Performs, troubleshoots and monitors quality control daily.
• Reviews reference laboratory reports and follows up as needed.
