North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to coordinate the workflow of phlebotomists in the Specimen Processing area, ensure accurate transport of lab supplies and specimens, and follow regulatory guidelines for specimen handling. You will communicate effectively with NMHS staff, patients, and families, and contribute to accurate reporting of test results.

This role emphasizes quality control, adherence to CAP and CLSI standards, and participation in CARES

• Stays abreast of regulatory changes.
• Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.

Aufgaben

• Coordinates work-flow of phlebotomists in Specimen Processing area.
• Assures accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment and specimens.
• Follows all laws and regulations in the processing and transportation of laboratory specimens.
• Follows regulatory guidelines in handling/processing of laboratory specimens.
• Follows proper policy for accurate patient identification and labeling of all specimens.
• Effectively communicate with all NMHS staff, patients, their family members and customers.
• Uses AIDET as applicable.
• Attends CARES training.
• When necessary, assures proper service recovery is done for patients and/or caregivers.
• Answers telephone in an polite and efficient manner.
• Works as part of a team with all Pathology and NMHS employees.
• Assures department testing, applicable to their area, is reported in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists with meeting goals of department Performance Improvement initiatives.
• Assures appropriate documentation of all required instrument monthly maintenance and quality control.
