Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital - Bartlett is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician to process and test diverse specimens, report results, and maintain sophisticated instrumentation. You will support routine and advanced operations while ensuring compliance and quality standards.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of experience, an associate degree or equivalent, and ASCP/AMT registration or state licensure as required. A sign-on bonus may apply based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or equivalent; graduate of accredited school of medical laboratory technicians or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years as a medical laboratory technician.
• Certification/License: Registered with ASCP, AMT or equivalent; licensure as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens.
• Reviews and reports lab results.
• Performs operational duties, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment; acts as resource to other laboratory personnel.
• Other duties may include billing, inventory management, equipment selection, validation and implementation; document control (SOPs); training and competency assessment, quality, and performance.
• Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required

• Education:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience;
  • graduate of accredited school of medical laboratory technicians or equivalent.
  • The above meets required criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489, Jan. 24, 2003).
• Experience:2 years as a medical laboratory technician.
• Certification/License:
  • Registered in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, AMT or equivalent).
  • Licensure, as required by state law.
