Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis, part of Tenet Healthcare, seeks a laboratory supervisor to oversee multiple sections, supervise staff, and ensure accurate testing operations within a high-volume hospital setting.

You will monitor procedures, ensure compliance with policies, and communicate with physicians and management about results, while guiding team development and maintaining patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee Laboratory License required.
• Minimum of 3 years medical laboratory experience.
• State of Tennessee General Supervisors License required.
• ASCP or NCA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises multiple Laboratory sections and staff.
• Monitors and performs technical procedures and equipment.
• Develops employees through evaluations and performance improvement.
• Enforces department and hospital policies and procedures.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care in a hospital setting and communicates with physicians and managers about test results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in the testing environment.
• Educates staff on new procedures and keeps patient interactions satisfactory.

Education

Current Tennessee Laboratory License

3 years medical laboratory experience

State of Tennessee General Supervisors License

ASCP or NCA Certification preferred

Job Summary
