Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician-Processor (MLT-Processor) to cover the Central Processing Area duties, including specimen processing, test entry, and requisition verification. You will handle customer service tasks and participate in quality control and inventory activities, with weekend/holiday rotations as required.

Strong emphasis on accurate processing, problem resolution, and ongoing professional development within a 24/7 facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred in medical laboratory technology or biological science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing and manual computer test order entry; verify laboratory test requisitions.
• Provide customer service by answering telephone inquiries and resolving testing sample issues with physician orders or specimen collection errors.
• Participate in quality control and quality improvement activities; assist with inventory control.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education within the Central Processing Area.
• Cover weekends and holidays as scheduled by the manager.
