Job summary

Ohio State University’s East Hospital Laboratory is seeking a Med Lab Tech-Processing (MLT-Processor) to cover Central Processing and Microbiology duties. The role supports specimen processing, test order entry, and requisition verification, with focus on customer service within a 24/7 lab environment.

Responsibilities include quality control, continuous improvement, inventory management, and ongoing professional development to maintain essential job functions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certification or vocational training may be required.
• Meets mandatory hospital education and health surveillance requirements.
• Demonstrates competence annually in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover duties of Central Processing and/or Microbiology processing in the Clinical Laboratories.
• Perform specimen processing and manual test order entry.
• Verify laboratory test requisition entry and provide customer service related duties.
• Participate in quality control, CQI activities, inventory control, and continuing education.
