Job summary

OhioHealth Core Lab is seeking a Medical Technologist (ASCP) to perform accurate and timely patient test results using automation and manual methods. You will oversee quality control, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting while handling blood, tissue, urine, and other bodily fluids.

The role involves interpreting data for diagnosis, maintaining safety protocols, and assisting with new method evaluations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in applied sciences required.
• ASCP certification or equivalent (MLT/MLS) required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for diagnosis and management of human illness.
• Maintain quality control, instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Handle blood, tissue, urine, spinal fluid and other bodily fluids; manage potential infectious risks.
• Conduct quality assurance, document QC data, and review maintenance logs to ensure instrument performance.
• Stay current in field; train new employees and students.
