Job description

Labcorp’s Medical Lab Scientist Program Director's primary focus will be to lead the development and delivery of the enterprise MLS/Histology/Cytology training and certification programs. In this role, the incumbent will possess an understanding of Labcorp’s global business portfolio and structure, and understand how early and mid-level talent development programs are an enabler of execution of business strategies and building Labcorp’s talent pipeline.

A successful incumbent will partner with Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, Technical Training, Certification Agencies, and University Relations Recruitment Team to understand talent needs, develop tailored program elements to address specific business needs, and exercise influence to gain buy in. A successful incumbent will also identify opportunities to recruit diverse candidates from global internal and external talent pools.

The schedule will be Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm. This is a remote position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project manage the overall strategy, design and execution of enterprise training and certification program, focused on building a robust talent pipeline and future leaders across multiple enterprise disciplines of our business.
• Partner with current NAACLS program directors to achieve online/hybrid accreditation status (Ascension MLS training program & Tampa HT training program).
• Complete design work and project plan to harmonize and move existing training materials into an online format allowing for training materials to be leveraged across the enterprise.
• Inspire and influence business leaders to leverage enterprise training and accreditation programs that is aligned with Labcorp’s organizational strategy, leadership principles, technical requirements and that brings value to the participating business segment.
• Collaborate with GTM to leverage the Labcorp Advantage program to establish an external affiliation with a cytotechnologist training program.
• Partner with GTM and business leaders to promote career awareness, attract student matriculation and deliver best in class learning and training to support team member experience.
• Maintain subject matter expertise in accreditation and certification requirements, processes and regulations.
• Collaborate with GTM and business leaders to evaluate existing external affiliations to ensure they are sufficient, productive and meet existing talent needs. Work with the recruitment team to research, select target partner academic programs and with the external recruitment strategy design.
• Lead enterprise, cross divisional collaboration between key stakeholders (Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, University Relations, etc.) to include regular cadence of information pertaining to program elements such as: metrics, market trends, internal and external best practices, talent outlook, and technical training needs.
• In collaboration with Business Leaders and HR Business Partner, maintain working knowledge of clinical rotation logistics, including budget management, scheduling, communications (internal, external and executive level) and program metrics.
• Lead branding activities around program recruitment – design creative campaigns to engage our target talent population, attended recruitment events, and stay current with trends in student engagement, technology platforms and tools.
• Participate in projects as applicable.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, ASCP certification and 5 years related clinical science experience required.
• Previous experience with attaining NAACLS accreditation and teaching experience is preferred.
• Previous university relations, university faculty or lab preceptor experience is preferred.
• Experience of working in a matrixed environment.
• Demonstrated project management skills; Attention to detail, organization and follow-up skills are critical to this position.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
• Ability to build and manage effective relationships within the company at all levels and external (i.e., university) personnel.
• Resourceful, creative and proactive. Ability to thrive in a constantly changing work environment requiring a high degree of multi-tasking.
• Excellent interpersonal qualities, including problem solving and strong partnership skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Knowledge of certification and accreditation, laws and regulations in geographic areas of
  operation, especially related to clinical lab sciences.
• Need to be flexible with working hours. 10% to 25% travel, primarily regional travel.
